It really takes courage to continue to come to work during this challenging time. That’s why we’re grateful to the nurses and other healthcare employees of Amberwood Gardens/Westwood Post Acute. We salute you and our leaders who take care of us.

The toughest weeks are still ahead ... but let’s show this virus that we ARE tougher and that we’ll be able to beat this. We continue to come to work because our residents need our nurses and our nurses need their leaders. We have each other’s back. In light of the COVID19 situation, we are not allowing anyone to visit the facility except for families who’s loved one is on end of life care (ie imminent) or if there’s a real medical necessity. All employees are being screened prior to their shift. We are working on setting up other forms of communication between families and patients. Our social workers are calling families regarding this and leadership are available for any questions or concerns that you may have associated to this plan of action. Amberwood Gardens (Westwood Post Acute) is doing the best possible way to protect your loved ones and to have a safe environment for its healthcare providers and other employees. We hope that you do the same. Thank you.

Everybody’s talking about the power outage in most of Norcal as early as tonight/midnight that may last for days. Hopefully it will only be til Thursday. Hopefully we’re not one of the affected areas. Grid shows we might be. Amberwood is equipped with generators to keep the facility’s power running to supply the energy that our machines need and for the continued services of our team to our residents. Let’s all pray that this won’t last long. The residents’ and our employees’ safety is our concern and rest assured our facility will provide that. Be safe everyone!

We are, once again, participating in the Silicon Valley Walk to End Alzheimer’s this year.
