California Baptist University is planning to welcome students back to campus this fall after more than a year of disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The increasing availability of COVID-19 vaccinations was a key factor in the decision to resume a more normal campus experience for students, faculty, and staff, CBU officials said. ... We are continuing to monitor the pandemic closely and will be developing plans that embrace best practices to ensure a safe return to campus life and in-person instruction, said Dr. Ronald L. Ellis, CBU president. Ellis said announcing the decision now will give prospective and current CBU students and their families considerable time to prepare for the return to campus life. Details about classroom instruction, student housing, and regular campus gatherings such as chapel, athletic events, and student clubs will be forthcoming as plans develop, he added.
