When the worldwide #coronavirus #pandemic began and states started enforcing quarantine, it seemed like it might be over within a month or two. Now, six months later, the end is still shrouded in uncertainty. For anyone in #recovery, this extended situation proves to be a major problem. Resisting the urge to #relapse is always a struggle, but now more than ever.
#Oxycodone and #Xanax, when used together, are extremely dangerous. Together, these two #drugs can lead to a fatal #overdose, as they both slow and even stop breathing. Getting #treatment for an #addiction to these drugs is essential and literally lifesaving.

#Meth-induced #psychosis is a serious and unfortunate result of continued methamphetamine abuse. Treatment for #methamphetamine addiction and meth-induced psychosis can stop the progression of this condition. However, the chances of #recovery are much better if #treatment is provided in the early stages of the disorder.
Helping a loved one recognize they have a problem with #drinking, and then helping them moderate or stop drinking, is challenging. Start by learning more about #alcoholusedisorder so you know what kinds of behaviors are considered problematic.
There are many things that loved ones can do to support someone in #rehab. From learning more about #addiction and #substanceabuse to attending family days and #therapy sessions, providing active support will help your loved one have a more successful recovery.
The #COVID1919 pandemic has caused problems for everyone. People struggling with #alcoholaddiction have faced additional challenges. #Alcoholusedisorder can trigger #depression not only during use but also while an individual is in #treatment and #recovery. Individuals may use #alcohol to self-medicate their symptoms, which can be even more prevalent in times of social and economic distress, such as the impact of #covid19. Residential treatment is the most effective way to treat co-occurring alcohol use disorder and depression to see positive, lasting results. #mentalhealthawareness #mentalhealthawarenessweek #mentalhealthawareness2020
Any abuse of a substance can trigger a #psychoticepisode, which includes symptoms like #hallucinations and #delusions. These episodes are usually short but also harmful. #Recovery is possible with ongoing #treatment. This is what will lead to lasting recovery and reduce the risk of future episodes. #mentalhealth #substanceusedisorder #addiction #druginducedpsychosis #altamirarecovery
What are you watching?
Having parents with #alcoholism is particularly problematic. Family history does not guarantee future #addiction. Awareness, management of #mentalhealth, and changing risk factors that can be controlled are essential to stopping the cycle of addiction
