ICYMI The Santa Ana winds are in full effect and we were just notified by SCE that our area may experience a planned outage as a precaution against wildfires. Current families: be sure we have your correct cell phone number(s) in case we send out a Parent Alert System (PAS) message requiring urgent parent action. If your child is one of our online learners and you experience a power outage (as many already are), simply call our school office to let us know so we can pass on the message to your teacher(s)

Shout out to a few of our favorite counselors from Alpine Camp and Conference Center! Last week would've been the BEST WEEK of the year in middle school with their annual week of camp, but since it's (obvi.) not happening, they were gracious enough to meet our kids online to catch up w/ them and sing their favorite camp songs. We can't wait to finally get back up there, but a huge THANK YOU in the meantime to these superheroes, incl. This coming week is #RedRibbonWeek! Per tradition, we have a special attire code for the week and our theme is #SUPERHEROES. It's always voluntary, but our kids always show out for the #drugfree lifestyle, so we're expecting big things!

WOW! "Grateful" is an understatement for how we feel for our school families and friends, who contributed over $3,800 to our disaster relief offering for FBCA of Moss Bluff, LA. A packet of handwritten cards and a check has been mailed to the school, and the money will go directly to the several teachers who have lost their homes after TWO hurricanes. Thank you to everyone who supported our offering. No amount of destruction or scarcity can overshadow God's generosity, but He always desires to give through His PEOPLE, and YOU have been faithful to His calling yet again!

Our shoe drive bin has been emptied and it's ready to be filled back up with your unwanted yet valuable shoes! We're collecting all month long for Central India Christian Mission and we're trying to hit 300 pairs this week, so look through those closets and then ask your neighbors to look through theirs. Last week, 2nd grade put on their science hats, dissected owl pellets (i.e. what comes back up after going down ) and classified the remains they found. Our distance learners also had their own kits to work with at home, and after witnessing their excitement it's safe to say "archaeologist" is a possibility in any of their futures. #alcseagles #handson #science

We want to take a moment to thank two #Upland businesses that have been especially impactful in our community since #quarantine: Preplife365 and Aroma Indian Grill & Banquet. Aroma serves a delicious Indian cuisine that many of our students and families have stuffed themselves with, and have provided countless free meals for those in need from the moment our community shut down. Aroma is currently open for #takeout and outdoor dining...and is delicious! PrepLife is a great o...ption for those of us who have #nutritiongoals and not enough time to #mealprep. They have steadily been providing free nutritious meals for local families through the joint efforts of our outreach team and @sgbic since summer. Whether it's #keto, balanced, or low-carb meals, PrepLife has tons of options to help us meet our goals and not get bored of the food, and are open for both #takeout and delivery. Who needs #PrimeDay when you have a creative class of 5th grade entrepreneurs? Stickers, succulents, veggie plants, custom art, 3D printed keychains, and much more was delivered yesterday to our teachers and students who shopped Eagle entrepreneur Day. Even in the heat it felt like Christmas!
