I need to take a moment and acknowledge how AMAZING ALTA employees are! During this pandemic, they have continually adapted to changing work environments, life events and schedules while maintaining their own safety and the safety of our extended communities. ALTA’s projects continue to move forward because they can adapt effectively. Thank you for all you do!
Our office remains under mandatory evacuation due to the Kincade Fire. If you or someone you know needs our help following a wildfire, encourage them to reach out as soon as possible following the incident. #kincadefire #kincade #cremainsrecovery #fire #archaeology

ALTA is pleased to announce the addition of Kevin Dalton to our team! Mr. Dalton is joining @ALTAarchaeologicalconsulting as a Principal Investigator. He is experienced in cultural resource management, NEPA, NHPA Section 106, and state level regulatory compliance. He has managed archaeological surveys, evaluations, laboratory analyses, and data recovery projects in the Western United States, Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, and Europe. Kevin hails from the Mt. Shasta area and... has an intimate familiarity with the environments of far Northern California, Southern Oregon, and Western Nevada. His personal and archaeological experience in these regions and extensive knowledge in zooarchaeology make him a valuable member of Alta’s team. Kevin meets the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Archaeology and is a Scientific Recovery Expert for the Department of Defense. He has lead archaeological missions to recover MIA/POW soldiers in many parts of the world. See more
The North Bay business journal awarded a community philanthropy award to Alex Degeorgey for his work on the cremains recoveries. Congratulations to everyone who supported and participated in this enormous undertaking. It took all of you to make it possible.

Another article from the Sac Bee on our Cremains recovery efforts.
The Washington Post flew out a journalist and photographer to document this weekends efforts on the cremains recovery. I appreciate the tone captured by this article. The team created a piece that balances the emotional aspect of this work with the legitimacy and necessity of the process. They captured the following quote from Alex DeGeorgey : We’re not only helping families find closure...we’re also building credibility in a new area of recovery.
