NEW BROTHER SPOTLIGHT: David Young is a Junior at UC Berkeley majoring in history (focusing on authoritarian regimes in 20th Century Europe) and minoring in Public Policy. He grew up in San Ramon, CA which is just half an hour southeast of Berkeley, making him a Bay Area native through and through. When he's not stuck studying for classes at Cal you can find David at a local coffee shop reading his latest find from Moe's Books, competing in the Model UN collegiate circuit, or eating at a local Thai restaurant. When he's not too busy confronting the existential dread of his post-undergraduate years you can find him spending time with the other brothers of Alpha Kappa Lambda
NEW BROTHER SPOTLIGHT: Suvam Nayak is a first year at UC Berkeley intending to major in Computer Science with an interest in minoring in Creative Writing. He lived most of his life in West Covina, CA which is just outside of Orange County but still technically LA county. To pass off the time, Suvam plays sports, writes poetry, and a multitude of other things; it just depends on the day. He is the self published author of three books: ...it's wrong..., its wrong II, and clarity. His books are available on Amazon.

The AKL family has lost a great friend and leader. Paul Foster's legacy at UC Berkeley spans five decades. Please join in remembering Paul. There will be a memorial service at Northbrae Community Church in Berkeley on July 21st at 2:00 pm. A reception will follow. The address is 941 The Alameda, Berkeley, CA 94707.
After touring from California to New York, the band Mom Jeans (featuring brother Austin Carango and alumnus Gabriel Paganin) returned to AKL for Cal Day. Big thanks to the three bands--Mom Jeans, Forget It, and Like Roses--for their killer performances yesterday.
Our good friend and brother, Gene Peterson (third from left) joined the Omega Chapter on March 23rd. Gene was kind, loyal, patient and taught us many life lessons. http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/mercurynews/obituary.aspx
On the second floor of our house, AKL's resident computer scientists are always up to something. Meet Ganesh, Leo and Neil. Guess which one's the rapper?
Captain of Cal Quidditch and IM Sports Chair, Djake Stanton, speaks on his championship aspirations: . . "I've been playing intramurals with AKL for the past 3 years. Competing alongside my brothers against a variety of clubs, dorm floors, and other fraternities has been an exhilarating experience that can break up long weeks better than any SUPERB concert.... Last year, we led the pack of the co-rec and open soccer leagues during the season. This semester, with center-half Sveto Olujic (pictured in tub) back from loan on the Croatian soccer academy, our chips are aligned for one last run at the title."
Find your tribe at Cal. Rush AKL to see if close-knit brotherhood, the Greek community, and free food are what you want out of college.
