Hey all! I need opinions :-) I made this as a surprise for my husband because he was ALWAYS losing his keys and sunglasses almost every single day. I gave it to him for Christmas early and he loved it. It hangs near our back entry where he passes every morning so he never forgets his keys or sunglasses again, while also being reminded of why he's off to work so hard, and of the two loving little faces he will come home to :-) I made it using a 2 inch deep wood canvas which ou...r kids then painted before applying their handprints. Then i stylized photos of the children before printing them on tissue paper along with quotes they say to their Daddy(exactly how they say them) from Winter 2015, then decoupaged them to the canvas. Then I drilled holes in the bottom to install key hooks, and holes in the side to add a bungee for sunglasses to hang securely by. Then it's all coated with a high gloss acrylic sealer to keep it nice and pretty for years to come :-) I really love this piece; and I've been contemplating adding a similar option to my wares in my Etsy shop. I currently only sell organic handmade skincare products but I think I'd like to provide customizable crafty keepsakes as well :-) what do you guys think? Would you pay someone for something like this? It would be 100% customizable. I would work with the buyer to incorporate whatever pictures or sayings they would want, be it seperate photos of their children, a family portrait, or an inspirational quote, and have them approve rough drafts before printing to apply to the canvas. And I can make them with or without the added keyhooks and bunjee so it would just be an art piece?.. :-) thanks for your honest opinions! See more
