The first step in putting an end to inner child abuse is to shine light on what’s chronically happening inside us, bringing our conscious awareness to see the situation. Most of us are quite busy defending ourselves by avoiding or medicating that internal critic. In my experience, we’re still responsible. There’s always some level at which we have agreed to this internal abuse dynamic, whether we know it or not. It’s important to understand how and why we developed this critic in the first place, so that the situation doesn’t repeat itself. . Many people live with an internal oppressor that constantly tells them they are not good enough, they’re unworthy, unlovable. Some suffer with chronic guilt and shame. Others have a fearful, over-protective inner judge that renders them unable to take healthy risks or be emotionally vulnerable. Tragically, there are also those who suffer with an inner critic so harsh that it can drive them to suicidal despair. In Allies & Demons, it’s understood that nothing can live in our psychic space without our permission.

The recent Coronavirus outbreak has encouraged a culture of fear and many are experiencing a level of panic and angst that is excruciating. Being a sensitive person has benefits and risks. The upside is compassion, intuition and deep awareness. The downside is unconsciously absorbing the emotions and energy of others. Renee talks the concept of energy matching and how we can protect ourselves on a spiritual and emotional level and redirect our fears into positive, constructive action using the principle of transmutation.

Working with depression is absolutely the hero’s journey. We need to be willing to go into the cave, face down the dragon and bring back the treasure that has been hidden and hoarded for so long. The advantage of working with the active imagination is that we can make non-physical beliefs, feelings and experiences concrete and work with them directly. The energy of depression is certainly palpable for anyone who has suffered with it. Through the journeys of Allies & Demons, our active imagination will give form and substance to the demon of depression itself. These journeys will enable us to transform the depression in powerful ways and retrieve valuable life energy that was drained away or lost.

When we connect with transpersonal aspects of ourselves, positive things will start to happen. Opportunities will come and grace will make itself available the more we live from our authentic self and trust the flow of life. As we experience the serendipity of universal support, the clearer and more available the next right life choice becomes.

The golden child is a wise and powerful part of ourselves, knowing with full clarity its true identity and power potential. The golden child within is naturally connected with and eager to help manifest whatever gifts and talents we were born with. The life force of this curious, compassionate, creative self can be a source of joy, courage, and wonder when we reconnect with it as adults. .
