Despite a global pandemic, San Diego voters showed up in record numbers to make their voices heard. And now together, we will continue to fight for a future where ALL people have the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of where we come from.
While we wait for all votes to be counted, we invite you to read this piece by ASD Board Member Samuel Tsoi where he shares his thoughts on what the future of San Diego needs so we can address the injustices of the past, and build a more inclusive democracy for the future.
As voters, we turned out in record numbers, despite a pandemic, an economic collapse, and attempts to stop us. Now we’re going to make sure that EVERY VOTE COUNTS.
WE VOTE for racial justice WE VOTE for tax equity WE VOTE for our communities.
When WE VOTE, our communities are heard. Let’s come together today to ensure every voter uses their power to help create the change we want to see. Drop your mail-in ballot at an official location or vote in-person today. https://bit.ly/3iWKQrZ

Together, we have the power to prioritize our schools, communities and essential services when we vote yes on Prop 15. Schools & Communities First
Alliance San Diego Mobilization Fund Board Member David Miles said it best, We must remember our legacy of fairness, and come together across race and place, t...o vote yes on Prop 15. CA schools & communities are struggling, and Prop 15 ensures we provide the necessary resources students and communities need to reach their full potential. Let’s begin to right the wrongs with yes on Prop 15.
This election season, it’s imperative that we ensure every voter uses their power to vote. No matter who we are or where we live, the moment to do our part is NOW. Did you or someone you know miss the voter registration deadline? Well, thanks to CA Election Law, eligible voters can STILL register AND vote on the same day. You will need to allow for extra time to complete forms, but you can still vote by visiting the Registrar’s office or your assigned polling place. Don’t miss out on the chance to build an inclusive democracy. Find more information: https://bit.ly/34QJMBT
Over the weekend, San Diegans took to the streets calling on the San Diego Country Club & other wealthy corporations to start paying their fair share in property taxes. This election, voters have the opportunity to close a decades-old corporate tax loophole, & vote for fair and balanced reform that reinvests in our schools & communities with yes on Prop 15.
HAPPENING NOW: We are out here in Chula Vista with our partners for a socially-distanced rally and car caravan in support of Proposition 15, the Schools & Commu...nities First Initiative. Today, we’re telling wealthy corporations, like the San Diego Country Club, to stop profiting at the expense of our students & communities. The San Diego Country Club, one of the most exclusive golf clubs in San Diego County, pays pennies per square foot while homeowners across the street pay 50 times as much. We say NO MORE. The car caravan will travel through Chula Vista to the San Diego Country Club.
