Everyone says when you have a baby that your whole world changes but they never tell you how. It changes i the way that every thought you have now doesn’t have you at the center. It changes in the way that you are in survival mode for the first 3 months trying to figure out their needs and cope with your own. It changes in that way that you start going to bed at 7:30 and you become very comfortable with being awake at 3am. It changes in the way that you will be in love and fr...ustrated and tired and happy and lost and safe all at once. It will change in the way that your confidence will not be shaken down by anything and your gut instincts will now be taking the lead. Let’s stop using blanket phrases about parenthood and really talk about it. Tell your friends that are expecting your true experiences and darkest feelings. General statements like it’s the hardest and best job you’ll ever have , this too shall pass , get sleep now while you’re still pregnant etc. aren’t comforting or paint any type of real picture of what being a mom is. We gotta stop putting vague phrases about the ups and downs of parenthood. Talk about it, say it out loud, because it’s hard, and say why. @amandanoel___ See more

My house is mess, my hair is in a bun, my baby is sleeping boxes are everywhere, I can’t find anything, my to do list gets longer every minute, have not done any Christmas shopping, BUT Megan and Mason are married and I’m so thrilled for them! It was the perfect day, definitely not what they originally had pictured but it was chalk full of love and joy shoutout to @ruedeseinebridal and @thedresstheorysandiego for giving Megan the dress of her dreams!

I brought my own foliage to this shoot, just so I could put it in front of my lens.

I've been thinking a lot lately about my ow creativity. I love solving problems and helping others work through things. Talking problems out and finding a solution makes me feel super productive. But over the past year or so I found myself in a major creative rut, producing the same work over and over. Doing the same poses, shooting in the same light, doing what feels comfortable and safe, because I thought that's what my clients expected of me. But they really expect me to b...e creative, create a unique experience just for them and to give them images that no one else can because that's why they chose me. - - - I traced the start of my creative rut to when I became so busy I stopped taking photos of my own life and family. I have almost no photos of my nieces and nephews in 2019. And if you saw how I was in the previous years you would be shocked as to how much I loved photographing them. Part of why I wasn't shooting family events was because I was hardly at them, and if I was I either had to leave early to go work or I was so exhausted from the day before, the thought of taking photos of my life was work. - - - What I realized out of all of this was, taking photos of my life and the kids made me the creative person I am. It pushed me to shoot in unideal lighting situations and to push myself in making a great image. I have gotten back into the swing of things and capturing those snot nosed rascals and I finally feel like I can give my clients something special again. - - - This was a shoot I had been dreaming up for a longgggggg time and I'm so thankful for Sabrina and Danny for being up for my ideas.
