Southern California Council of Chinese School Awards and 99 Ranch Market Scholarship Congratulations to ALD students Keoni C., Bodie C., and Aidan C. for winning the 2021 SCCCS awards and 99 Ranch Market scholarships for outstanding Chinese language skills, academic excellence, and extracurricular leadership and achievement. We are so proud and look forward to next years’ ALD winners!

ALD Class Presentation Week October 4 to October 9, 2021 Each ALD class will participate in a class presentation demonstrating the students' knowledge and creativity. Teachers will let parents know the date and time of their student’s presentation.

A special performance of Teresa Teng’s () The Moon Represents My Heart () by ALD student Maddy L. and her teacher ALD Music Director Yunhe Liang. Maddy is playing both the Erhu and the Flute and Mr. Liang is playing both the Erhu and the Piano. Maddy and Mr. Liang are playing the different instruments which are then edited together into one track so all of the music you hear was actually played by Maddy and Mr. Liang. As you can see, ALD students are very skilled because subtitles in foreign language films flash by on screen very quickly and it takes quite a bit language mastery to be able to actually read subtitles, word by word, as it is displayed. https://www.youtube.com/watch

Congratulations to ALD Chinese School orchestra members for their President’s Volunteer Service Awards! A Little Dynasty Chinese School’s Children's Chinese Orchestra is a strong supporter of our local community and participate in many volunteer performances at libraries, schools, senior centers, community celebrations, and music and arts festivals to help enrich the cultural lives of the community. ALD students who are orchestra members are eligible to receive The President’s Volunteer Service Award to honor the positive impact they make in our community.

2021 Mid-Autumn Festival (aka Moon Festival) at ALD. From September 20 to September 25, 2021 ALD will be celebrating the 2021 Moon Festival, one of the major Chinese festivals, with many exciting student events and activities showcasing the talent, knowledge, and creativity of ALD’s amazing students.

ALD Chinese School’s famous Little D Parent & Me class is back in person! ALD’s Little D students and their parents had so much fun this week learning new words and skills and making new friends, all while playing in ALD’s delightful kids village. The waiting list is still short so don’t delay and contact us today to get in on all the fun.

ALD will be closed on Monday, September 6, 2021 in observance of Labor Day. Classes resume on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

ALD Fall Semester 2021 Chinese School starts next week. Our Fall 2021 onsite classes are full but you can be added to the waiting list in case a space opens up. Alternatively, we invite you to try our amazing online classes. Our online classes are not just onsite classes presented online. Rather, our online classes use a specially developed curriculum optimized for online learning and are taught by our own experienced online teaching team. In fact, some of our classes including our most advanced levels are offered online only. There are only a few spaces left in our 2021 Online Chinese classes so contact us asap if you are interested.

Summer Camp 2021 ALD’s 2021 Summer Camp and LAB were a big success! Despite the strict covid prevention measures we had to implement, our campers nevertheless had an amazing experience and made lots of friends and memories learning about science, art, cooking, music, culture and so much more all in a fun Mandarin immersion environment.
