Friends, here's a new tip for your virtual holiday celebrations: Don't keep precious photos stashed under your coffee table. Make image sharing part of your online gathering so that everyone can enjoy old family pictures, wherever they live. Handle the project yourself or ask a professional scanner to help. If you choose someone else to digitize your materials, make sure that the scanning professional is expert at safely handling fragile photos and documents, and consider keeping the project local. For some items, hand-scanning (rather than machine feeding) is highly recommended.
