If you have a wood stove or fireplace please, please be careful when disposing of the ash! Today a client called me at home because they had a fire at their home. I went there and luckily the fire only damaged a small area of the exterior. After helping them get their power back on (the fire department turned it off) and talking for a little bit I was just about to leave when by chance she mentioned that the ash from the woodstove was dumped in the greenwaste bin. Since the greenwaste bin was melted in the area of the fire I am betting that was what started the fire. If a neighbor had not noticed the fire so soon it could have been much worse.
