What is happiness? Happiness is a state of being. For me, it seems to arise from a sense of accomplishment after achieving something I set out to do (such as writing this email), or a feeling of connection with a client, friend, or loved one. It can also be a feeling of connection to Mother Nature on walks, or in the ocean, or to my body as a result of physical activity.... Happiness is the experience of being connected to life...so it can literally occur anytime, independent from outside circumstances, even though it can really seem to be coming from something external. There is nothing wrong with setting goals, acquiring things, or doing things that we think make us happy. However, if we allow our happiness to be conditional based on our circumstances and actions, we are selling ourselves short. We are always connected to life. That is a fact. It is our experience of connection that fluctuates. Why does it fluctuate? Because we live in the felt experience of the principle of Thought taking form from moment to moment. So, while we may have the experience of separation, the fact is we are always connected. Which means that happiness is always there, waiting for us to wake up from our temporary trance. It is my sincere desire to remind you of your divine self, of who you truly are. with tons of love, Alan

The power of Thought is such that it alone creates our challenges and problems in one moment, and in another has us witnessing the infinite potential of the Universe. -Alan Combies Have you ever asked yourself, where do thoughts go after I think them? Interesting, huh?... Thought is transient by nature, yet when we fail to understand how our experience of life is created we innocently fall victim to the trances of our conditioned thinking. We get sucked into the story and we over identify with it. Michael Neil, author of several books including, Super Coach, says there are three levels of coaching (not styles but levels). Level one is coaching for performance. Think public speaking, acting, or sports. Level two is Life Coaching. A more wholistic approach that usually involves trying to get your wheel in balance. The third level...and what I have been fascinated with, is Transformative Coaching. What would your life look like if you could drop your limiting beliefs and old habitual thinking? In my opinion, when you begin to truly understand the nature of your experience and who you really are, your capacity to identify and see beyond your old stories becomes your super power. Think of it this way: How much will-power or self-belief did it take you to make your last cup of coffee or tea? My guess is, not much at all. So what’s really the difference between that and you stepping out and doing that thing you always wanted to do? The answer is, Thought. Simple, yet not always easy to see. Rather than putting one foot in front of the next we instead get distracted by uncomfortable feeling thoughts of... How will I do it? What will they think of me? Who am I to...? Thoughts like that feel like they weigh us down. Do you know why? Because they completely go against your true, divine nature. That is all your feelings are trying to tell you...that you are caught up in old trances. That’s it! Helping you see this with more clarity has become my mission because I know it can be truly... Transformative. with love, Alan
