True story. I've stood in that very spot. I represented the owner Carl F. I have touched the handrail that was carved by their neighbor Stackpole.. a sculptor who has installations at ccsf and the pacific stock exchange. There were frescos in the space and it was very humble loft. About 700 sq ft. They were well known on Montgomery St. I've had a very storied real estate career.

Came across this post while searching for an article about a historic property. While my love and interest for these homes are genuine, I often forget how bless...ed I have been to follow my passion and dreams. It was always desire of mine to be involved in historic properties. Its something I've always been drawn to. These homes are special and were a big deal to me at the time and its a nice little reminder to myself of who I am and how lucky I am. Since this original post, I've added a few more. The LaCroix family home (Mayor of Alameda), Louis Fields house (Amazing Navy Pilot and Commander Alameda), and Joseph A. Leonards original home on San Jose Ave. ----- Anyway heres the original post. I was tickled pink to be in there and also sold the Victorian kiddie corner which was the same architect and a boys school... So this is what I was doing yesterday. Arguably Alameda's most recognized home and I was blessed to be a docent there. My room was the parlor which has a peacock theme. Ironically, my business logo is a peacock so I believe it was destiny that I was there to actively tell their story and the story of the homes history. You can see two other homes built by the original owner and architect 1201 and 1209 Union St. All the wall paper is from Bradbury and Bradbury in Benecia, CA. They also had one room done for free from them. B and B had a new design and needed a home to shoot a promotional marketing ad featuring the series and this home won. There are a few pictures of the parlor and you can identify it by the beautiful gold mirror and also a sitting area with a couch a multiple chairs which the owners reupholstered themselves. They also designed and made their own draperies. All of the furniture in the parlor was purchased at the Alameda Point Antiques fair just in case you needed a reason to attend I realize how blessed I am when things like this happen to me and in addition to being a part of this home I have also been blessed to be sell/be part of two grand Queen Anne's that were also featured on the Legacy tour 2143 Alameda Ave (the Captains House) and Alice Wheeler's home at 1501 Central Ave. All of this stuff really trips me out because I had a dream and vision to do what I do and its just really weird see come to life.
