Hello All, Fellow client and previous Aktion Club member Cedric needs our help! Cedric has lived in our care home and also has attended AIM HIGHER. Cedric is a 24 year old young man who has a son, Zion who will be 2 years old at the end of May. Cedric suddenly ended up with his son 100% as his mom can no longer care for him. Due to the fact he now has his child permanently he can not live in the care home. With the assistance of the Regional Center they were able to get I...ndependent Living Services set up for him and can help him and also get him some parenting support as well. Fortunately, Cedric has been able to find an apartment for himself and his baby but it took everything he had to move in. At this point all Cedric and his son have are their clothes. He is working with his ILS worker to get CalFresh started. We are reaching out to ask for help from our fellow Kiwanians and supporters. He needs everything (including very basic items) ie: plates, cups, silverware, pots, pans, a microwave, towels, furniture (small table, bed, dresser, a small couch, etc). We would like to ask all of you to see if you have anything you may be able to donate to help Cedric and his son during this transition. We can also help him shop for discounted items if you would like to donate financially or buy gift card which can be used for household items or things such a diapers. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions or would be able to assist. Items can also be dropped off anytime at AIM HIGHER Roseville or Orange Grove and we will get them to Cedric. Any support you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Cedric is a good father and I am hoping we can get him set up so he can focus on learning the skills to live independently while raising his son. Thank you all!
