AHP tests are for active infection, not antibodies, and are available to all children and asymptomatic adults whose insurances we take (check our website to see if we take yours!). We also have limited appointments available for adults with mild symptoms, please contact us to see if you are eligible. ... Sick children do not need an appointment, but please call ahead before you visit. Asymptomatic children and adults need an appointment. We have appointments available during the day, evenings, weekends, and even holidays! Appointments are usually available within two days. Children are prioritized and there may be same day appointments available for them. While we cannot guarantee a turnaround time, our lab generally has results in 2-5 days after your visit, plus 1 extra day for tests on Saturday or Sunday. During weeks where there is a surge in cases, results can take up to 6 days. We apologize if there is a delay. COVID-19 tests are billed through your insurance provider. We bill for an office visit and an independent lab bills for the test. Your insurance provider may require a deductible or co-pay. Many patients are able to submit a receipt for reimbursement, so please contact your insurance provider with any questions regarding the price of testing. COVID-19 Testing: If you have a child that is currently sick or injured, you do not need an appointment. You can bring your sick or injured child to our clinic anytime during our business hours but as a courtesy please call ahead at 650-579-6581 to let us know you are coming. We request that all patients fill out their forms prior to visiting. Please visit our website at afterhourpeds.net and click on the link to fill out the forms. Please read all directions carefully and f...ill out all 3 pages in addition to emailing your insurance card. If you need COVID-19 Testing for an asymptomatic child or their immediate adult family members, please fill out all forms and email a front and back picture or scan of your insurance card to [email protected] along with a request for a test. We will email you back as soon as possible with an appointment time. If you have a COVID-19 related question AND cannot find the answer on our website, you can call our COVID-19 line, 650-410-0822. Do not call the main AHP, which is reserved for sick or injured children. If you need COVID-19 testing for an asymptomatic adult only, please note that we have a large backlog of tests and are prioritizing our pediatric patients. There will be a significant delay in testing you. Please check other testing sites and only request an appointment if you cannot get a test elsewhere.
