Painting titled: Triple Threat by Danielle Matthews, Oil and acrylic on canvas, 20x24, $1500. AfroSolo Arts Festival’s 2021 Visual Art Exhibit is titled: MASK UP: To Save Black Lives. The exhibit is curated by Robert Melton includes photographer Gene Dominique, painters Danielle Matthews and Alexandra Nuñez, and selfies from the Black community.... AfroSolo joins the battle to save the lives of Black people from COVID-19. Whether President Biden reaches his goal of administering 100 million vaccines in 100 days, according to experts, Black lives can be saved by wearing masks or facial coverings. The facial covering can slow the infection rate and is especially important because too many Black people die from the virus. Our exhibition has four parts: -artists to created works to inspire everyone to wear masks. -provide information to keep us informed on the the virus. -invite community members to send selfies wearing masks. We will use these to encourage others to do the same. - we fervently urge you to consider getting vaccinated. If you do, please let us know.
