Dear Filmmakers, Staff, Friends of the Festival and Society Members: Re: Postponement of the Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo The Anaheim Film Arts Society, organizer of the Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo, recently welcomed the entry of Media Works as its major media and marketing sponsor. ... However, after much deliberation with Media Works, the Anaheim Film Arts Society has decided that it is in the best interest of the Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo to postpone the event scheduled for this October until next summer. We realize this comes with great disappointment and inconvenience for many of you, and for that we humbly apologize. The Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo was established with the primary goal of creating a world class festival, not only as an integral part of the cultural and economic fabric of the city of Anaheim, but also as a prime stop in the global circuit for high quality films. This decision allows us to stage the Festival in the high quality level that the filmmakers, festival participants, sponsors, staff, friends of the festival, society members and the host city truly deserve. Media Works believes that what they bring to the table for the Anaheim Film Festival and Media Arts Expo will not only be of more value, but more impactful as well, if the festival is moved from the scheduled dates of October 24-28 to the summer of 2013. All films that have been submitted for the scheduled October festival will be carried over for consideration for the summer of 2013 festival. The Community Sneak Previews begin next Thursday - July 26, 2012

The Anaheim Film Arts Society is proud to announce as their inaugural event: ANAHEIM FILM FESTIVAL & MEDIA ARTS EXPO 2012 COMMUNITY SNEAK PREVIEWS ... Beginning July 26th, the Anaheim Film Arts Society(AFAS) will give you the opportunity to participate in the selection process for this year's Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo(AFFMAX). Every Thursday evening at 7pm for six weeks through Aug 30th, we will present a selection of shorts, features & documentaries that are in consideration for this year's festival. After viewing these films you'll have a chance to give us your feedback and be a part of selecting some of the films that will play in October. These previews nights are free to AFAS members and are $8 at the door for non-members. Non-members who purchase $8 may choose to apply that amount toward a film society membership. Memberships can be purchased now through the AFAS website, by phone at (714) 991-9110 or at the door. Membership pricing begins at $60 for a single or $100 for a dual. Student memberships are available for only $25. All memberships are valid for one year and in addition to free admission to the Community Sneak Previews, memberships include other benefits such as free tickets to festival screenings, discounts on merchandise and additional tickets to screenings/workshops, and at certain levels, free merchandise items. And of course the most important benefit of all is being able to say that you are a vital part of bringing the art & culture of film from around the world and from new up and coming filmmakers to Anaheim and North Orange County. Each night will be different sent of films.

Here is your chance to support the Anaheim Film Festival & Media Arts Expo by becoming a member of the Anaheim Film Arts Society. As a member you will receive passes to passes and discounts for AFAS/AFFMAX film screenings and events as wells as discounts on merchandise and Opening, Closing & Awards Gala Event tickets. In addition members are invited to participate in the film festival selection process through our Community Sneak Previews. These Member-Only events will allow you to give us your feedback regarding films that are under consideration for the film festival.
