For those of you who have already had your bunnies vaccinated, we will begin the laborious process of obtaining more before a booster will be due. We still don’t know what this virus will do in California and it’s best to be prepared. Also remember that this virus is in the wild population of rabbits where much of our hay or produce might be grown!

What’s the smallest spay surgery we’ve ever done? Possibly Misty the 46gm dwarf hamster! She was bleeding from her uterus and had surgery yesterday to remove her uterus and ovaries. She’s feeling great today and is looking forward to going home!

Two weeks ago we had a patient transfer from the emergency clinic next door (Pet Specialists of Monterey Inc.) after a nasty raccoon attack. Poor Quacky Chan was lucky to be alive!! He had a long road ahead healing from the trauma and infection and learning to eat with his damaged bill. His family (both human and duck) has been very supportive and today he had his two week recheck to remove all of his sutures! Happy healing to Quacky and his wife, Duck Norris!
