Extremely honored to share that I’ll begin teaching yoga + meditation at my city’s homeless shelter, Bridge to Home, on Monday!!! This is literally a dream come true for me, combining many things I’m passionate about: helping our homeless neighbors transition in their lives, harnessing the spiritual and physical benefits of yoga, and sharing the compassion for ourselves and others that we build through meditation. Thank you so much for the opportunity, y’all ~ #yoga #meditation #helpthehomeless #homelessness #lacounty #losangeles #santaclarita #scv #valencia #santaclaritavalley #shelter #civicduty #civicresponsibility

Happy for the opportunity to talk about redistricting on a non-partisan activism call tonight, thanks for having me y’all ! The 2020 census data is being used to redraw district lines, which will be in effect for the next decade. The Citizen’s Redistricting Commission, appointed by the governor, is now receiving public comment on how we feel the district lines should be drawn. My fellow Santa Claritans, please use the link below to express your opinion that we need to keep ...Santa Clarita whole! Our city is currently split into two state senate districts, and I would like to see my new home represented by one set of elected officials. Our city operates as an inclusive unit, a tight-knit community, a caring family. Voice your opinion to keep Santa Clarita whole and please do so soon, to increase the likelihood the Commission will read your comment. Thank you ! https://wedrawthelines.ca.gov/ #santaclarita #scv #valencia #santaclaritavalley #ad38 #redistricting #census #Census2020

Was lovely to join my first Simi Valley Chamber of Commerce meeting today, their Legislative Advocacy Forum. I learn more about my new state and new home every day, such as kindergarten is not a requirement in California. Grateful to learn about legislation and legislative updates from my community leaders . Thank you for having me! #simivalley #chamberofcommerce #ad38 #california #publiceducation

Always grateful to learn from the experts at Action Rehab. Tonight we spent over two hours discussing social, cultural, family, legislative, legal, medical, and educational approaches to reducing and preventing heroin use in the community. Next up to learn from and brainstorm with: Hart School Board members and District leaders, my LA County Supervisor, the Drug Free Youth organizers, and Tarzana Treatment Centers outreach team, in addition of course to our homeless neighbors suffering with heroin addiction and those seeking to help ~ Please message me if you’d like to share your thoughts or get involved! #santaclarita #scv #valencia #santaclaritavalley #castaic #antelopevalley #canyoncountry #lacounty #losangeles #helpthehomeless #homelessness #Heroin

Grateful for the opportunity to discuss homelessness in Santa Clarita with our city’s law enforcement leaders in that area. There are an incredible amount of nuances to address in the topic of homelessness, just as each homeless neighbor, and those on the brink of homelessness, has specific needs - from multiple families living together with school aged children to chronically homeless schizophrenics. Those suffering with opiate addiction and those running from domestic abuse.... There is no catch-all solution or one stop shop magic program to implement, but I do know that if we all begin with a base of compassion for each other, we can begin to help each other more . In addition to working on my five-point plan with Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley’s Satellite Club, I’m excited to begin researching specific legislative changes and K-12 educational platforms that can help change the future of our community. #santaclaritavalley #santaclarita #scv #valencia #lacounty #losangeles #helpthehomeless #homelessness #canyoncountry #antelopevalley #castaic

So honored to be asked to speak at the City of Santa Clarita Government’s Homelessness Task Force today for the first time, to present two projects I’m spearheading regarding helping our homelessness neighbors. I spend every day contemplating how to help others achieve their version of the American dream, and especially how to help our homelessness neighbors suffering with heroin addiction get from point A to C, especially if point A is they’re currently not interested in get...ting off the streets and/ or facing their substance abuse/ mental health struggles. Honored that leaders of my new home are willing to listen to and collaborate on what used to just be my dreams and are now actual projects we’re working on in LA County. This is my version of the American dream. Thank you for sharing your compassion #santaclarita #scv #valencia #helpthehomeless #homelessness #losangeles #lacounty #santaclaritavalley

Thank you so much for your time today, Mayor Bill Miranda! I’m honored my elected officials take the time to speak with me, a brand new Santa Claritan, to help me understand the top issues facing my neighbors and my new home, and how I can help. As I approach my 30th birthday and think long and hard about the type of person I want to be, and about my dreams of being a public servant (in elected office), I’m so grateful to receive general life advice from individuals like my n...ew mayor and our previous mayor, Councilmember Cameron Smyth. I’m proud to have them as my city’s leaders (along with Councilmembers Jason Gibbs, McLean, and Weste) and am grateful to be a part of organizations like the Rotary Club of Santa Clarita Valley as we try to help others achieve and live their versions of the American dream . As a first-generation Asian American, I look forward to learning more about fostering multi-culturalism through observing the actions of the city’s new Human Relations Roundtable and reading the mayor’s book, Profiles in Latino Courage! #santaclarita #scv #valencia #santaclaritavalley #ad38 #sd27
