Congrats and thank you to Akshaya, her friends, and their parents for raising awareness around Alzheimer's disease in the annual Alzheimer's Association Walk to... End Alzheimer’s. The team walked at Rancho Bernardo High School last Saturday, representing the UC San Diego Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer's Disease Research Center and Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study. Held in more than 600 communities nationwide, the walk is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This year’s event wasn’t a large in-person gathering, but there was plenty of walking, including participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease. This year, Walk to End Alzheimer’s was everywhere on every sidewalk, track and trail. All participants are encouraged to raise funds that will advance the mission of the Alzheimer’s Association by enabling critical care and support services and advancing research toward methods of prevention, treatment and, ultimately, a cure. Thanks, Akshaya and friends! #Walk2EndAlz
