STRETCH MARKS What are stretch marks? Stretch marks are formed when the skin is subjected to a sudden expansion that exceeds the limits of its elasticity. It’s an inflammatory reaction caused by the rupture of the collagen and elastin fibres in the dermis. Often present on the buttocks, thighs, breasts, or hips, these scars look like fine lines or little welts. When they appear, they initially have a pinkish or purplish hue then clear up after a few month...s, becoming white or pearly. *A significant weight gain or loss. *A weakening of the skin during strong hormonal surges (puberty, pregnancy). *A high level of cortisol in the blood (cortisone treatments, Cushing’s syndrome). *Taking anabolic steroids. How to treat stretch marks? Anti-stretch mark creams: The active substances in anti-stretch mark creams (vitamin A acid or tretinoin) stimulate the production of elastic fibres in the skin. While the effectiveness of these creams on well-established stretch marks (white or pearly) remains low, the hydration that they offer your skin is beneficial. Daily long-term application is favourable. In addition, we recommend applying your cream using the massage technique called palpate and roll. This method involves holding your skin between your fingers and slowly rolling it upwards. Microdermabrasion : This safe and gentle procedure involves projecting diamond crystals containing a polishing property onto the stretch marks. By eliminating the dead skin cells, the growth of new healthy cells and the production of collagen and elastin are stimulated. Micro-needling : A microneedling pen, like MD Needle Pen, is used to create microscopic injuries in the stretch marks and the body responds by producing new collagen at the wound sites. This natural reaction by the body heals the tears in the dermis responsible for the stretch marks. As the outer layer of the skin is not affected by micro needling, the new collagen generated is used only to help heal the stretch marks.

What are Capillaries? A Capillary is a Small Blood Vessel from 5 to 10 micrometers, and having a wall one endothelial cell thick. They are the smallest blood vessels in the body: they convey blood between the arterioles and venules. What is the function of capillaries in the skin? Function of Capillaries : The capillaries are responsible for facilitating the transport and exchange of gasses, fluids, and nutrients in the body. While the arteries and arterio...les act to transport these products to the capillaries, it is at the level of capillaries where the exchange takes place. Why do capillaries break? But broken capillaries are actually caused by an external disturbance in your skin windburns, extreme temperature changes, excessive drinking or smoking especially UV damage and trauma to the skin, such as popping a pimple too forcefully. Even a sneeze that's too strong can cause broken capillaries. what should you do during your facial? If you have broken capillaries, or if you have sensitive skin that might be prone to them , flag it before your next facial. The aesthetician may avoid steam and applying hot towels. Experienced aestheticians can give extractions to someone without doing any more damage to the capillaries, so it's important to choose your aesthetician carefully. "Be gentle when cleansing your face. Wash your face with lukewarm water rather than hot or cold and make sure to protect your face in cold weather. Using sun protection and gentle, soothing ingredients can also be beneficial. @adi.skincare

What is in a Whitehead? The causes of whiteheads are similar to the causes of other types of acne. Whenever the sebaceous glands begin overproducing oils, the extra oil may mix with dead skin cells.
