In Western Medicine the body is seen as a machine, you try to fix a broken part or take it out. In Chinese Medicine, the body is seen as a garden. If the leaves... are wilting or turning brown, you examine the condition of the soil, see if the plant is getting enough water & sun or if the roots are being impinged upon. You don’t just paint the leaves green! ~ From the classic book on Chinese Medicine, "Between Heaven and Earth". See more

Take a look! Acupuncture needle (0.16mm) compared with insulin needle (0.3mm/30G) and standard syringe needle (0.6mm/23G) (human hair knot for scale) I use filiform needles ranging from 0.1mm to 0.3mm. The guage of the needle that I use depends on what I am treating, where I am treating, combined with patient's preference.

LOL, I just had a conversation about this with a client, NM, talking about her experience giving birth in the US NM had a that friend gave birth in Japan - she had meals that were similar to the examples here. When NM gave birth, she forced her husband to get food from WholeFoods because she was sooo disappointed with the food at the hospital here. To all the new moms, nutrition is key to recovery after delivery. Please take care!
