A peek into Gallery A04 at the Capitola Mall where my solo show is on display for the month of March. The exhibit "Merlyn Moreno Landscapes - Retro & New" brings together a sampling of many years of landscape paintings in my contemporary style. All works are acrylic on canvas. The show is affiliated with Art of Santa Cruz Gallery where I am an artist member. Painting on the easel "Cement Ship at Sunset" is my most recent work of a sentimental landmark in Aptos. The USS Pa...lo Alto was once a proud naval ship grounded as an entertainment destination in the 1930s. Over the years she has broken up and been pounded by relentless sea waters. The ship's sad silhouette is a local "celebrity." Hope to see many local friends at my Artist's Reception Saturday 3/20, 2-5 pm! Still on the easel, but soon to be finished is a view along West Cliff Drive, Santa Cruz. I love this location for painting subjects and walks along the bay.
