Hello Families, Please see below for our Nutrition Hub schedule during winter break. As always, meals may be picked up through our drive-thru (entrance on Rowan Avenue gate) or you may walk-up to pick up meals on 1st Street between Rowan Avenue & Townsend Avenue. Your child does not need to be present when you pick up a meal. Please share with your neighbors. Meals are available for all children in the community 18 and younger. Three meals are provided per child (breakfast, ...lunch, supper), and each meal comes with milk and fruit. Winter Vacation Schedule: December 21-24, 8am-2pm December 28-31, 8am-2pm January 6-8, 8am-2pm CLOSED: December 25, January 1 and January 4-5

ACRMA8's Nutrition Hub is open everyday from 8am-2pm. We also want to share with you that LA Care's Boyle Heights Family Resource Center is hosting a free drive-thru food distribution this Friday from 8am-10am!

Alliance schools will continue with a virtual learning model through the end of the semester (December 18). We know this is difficult news but we believe this is the best option for the health and safety of our scholars, families, and staff at this time. First and foremost, I would like to say Feliz dia de la Independencia to mi gente in El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras and Costa Rica!... Second of all, I would like to welcome you all to day one of #LatinxHeritageMonth! I have been counting down the days and am very glad to be here! This is the month to highlight all the wonderful Latinx reads that exist and are coming our way. It's a time to celebrate the intersectionalities of the Latinx identity and boost their voices! To be honest, I'm not quite sure Canada has a designated LHM...so I'll just jump on the wagon with my US friends! I guess it doesn't really matter because it's Latinx Heritage Month every month in my household ! Today I put a list of different recommendations for those who really don't know where to start! Don't be shy, join along, we're all friends here! Most of the books I haven't read either so it will be fun exploring them all with you! I hope everyone can find a new favourite read at some point this month. We have a wealth of stories and experiences to read about! Of course, celebrating LHM doesn't just mean reading. It also means supporting local Latinx businesses and organizations. It means learning about our histories and our experiences. It means listening to our voices and stories. You've seen and heard of the atrocities at the border. You've seen and heard of the police brutality. LHM means raging with us and extending a helping hand however you can.
