We are in the harvest Season spirit and we have a new exciting seasonal drink for you! Come in and try our Cosecha y Pepita Latte! Yes there is pumpkin involved. Our simple syrup is inspired by Ana’s Salvadoreña roots. It is a nod to a dish traditionally eaten during Easter called ‘Ayote en miel’ which is ‘squash in honey’. We know it’s not Easter but the flavors are extremely appropriate for this harvest (cosecha) season. We use piloncillo, pumpkin and pumpkin spice to ma...ke the syrup, giving this a molasses like richness with the aromatics of cloves and other baking spices. There is also another special pumpkin ingredient in this latte to tie these flavors all in, and that is dash of ‘Alguashte’. We are finely grinding toasted pumpkin seeds blending it with a bit of sea salt and sprinkling this nutty savory goodness on top of that creamy latte, amplifying all those flavors.
