Designed with Community, Built by Students... The Bayview Commons Apartments is an affordable community in service since 2003, located in the Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood of San Francisco. Mission Housing Development Corporation and the San Francisco Housing Development Corporation, our nonprofit partners, are working with us to fund the project, but we still need your help! Our Indiegogo campaign expires in 3 days and while we know there are many organizations to donate to right now, we hope that you will consider the impact this project can make and help to support it. Fabrication for this project is underway. About the project: Through an online outreach process, students learned that residents wanted an active, intergenerational, flexible space that allowed for relaxation, interactive play, and community events. The final design incorporates a set of movable furniture that can be set up in different configurations supporting social distancing.
