Ayurvedic Tips!Fall is here, which means Vata season is here! Vata represents the elements of Air and Space. In Ayurveda it is believed Joh Brahamande Soi Pinde, meaning, whatever is in the macrocosm, it is also in the microcosm. In fall we start to notice the cold wind, the dry air, and all the motion going on around us, we also start to notice that within us as well. So what can we do to help keep Vata in check? It is important to keep yourself grounded, and keep a regu...lar routine. Make sure you wake up on time, go to sleep on time, eat on time. It is important to eat Warm, fresh cooked meals, and incorporate Ghee & Ayurvedic spices into the meals like cumin, fennel, fresh ginger, cinnamon, and more. Decrease Vata aggravating foods like, dry, cold, raw foods, leftovers, processed foods, canned foods, and refined sugars. It is important to be mindful, and live in gratitude. Whenever you feel restless, take a deep breath, try to meditate, and focus on the present moment. Remember this mantra: Sat-Chit-Ananada, You are truth, you are consciousness, and you are bliss. Remember to give yourself self-love. Apply warm herbalized oil onto your body and give yourself a daily massage before you take a shower. Not only will this ground you, and relax you, but it will also provide you with the warmth and stability that you need. You will be filled with immense love for yourself, and will want to take care of yourself. The self-oil massage will rejuvenate your tissues, and will also fight off stress, and bring healing to the body and mind. And if you want to pick some apples make sure you bake/cook them before you’re going to eat them. Welcome to the fall season! See more

Self-Massage/ Abhyanga: There are many ways to practice self-love. One way of practicing self-love is by lovingly massaging ourselves from head to toe with warm oil. The Sanskrit words Sneha can be translated as both: oil & love. Like the experience of being loved, Abhyanga can give a deep feeling of stability and warmth. A daily self-massage/Abhyanga not only grounds and relaxes you, but it also enhances well-being, and longevity. Some of the benefits of Abhyanga are: it... lubricates the joints, increases circulation, stimulates internal organs of the body, eliminates impurities of the body, moves the lymph, aids in detoxification, calms the nerves, increases stamina, softens skin, helps better sleep, decreases anxiety, and does a lot more. So give some love to yourself! When is Abhyanga not recommended: During beginning of pregnancy, during the menstrual cycle, during times of great physical discomfort, high aama, open wounds, masses or by those who have an acute illness or certain medical conditions. How to give yourself a massage: *Warm the oil. * Sit or stand comfortably in a warm room * Apply oil first to the crown of your head, in circular strokes. * Face: Massage in circular motion on your forehead, temples, cheeks, and jaws (always moving in a upward movement). * Use long strokes on the limbs (arms and legs) and circular strokes on the joints (elbows and knees). * Massage the abdomen and chest in broad, clockwise, circular motions. On the abdomen, follow the path of the large intestine; moving up on the right side of the abdomen, then across, then down on the left side * Finish the massage by spending at least a couple of minutes massaging your feet. Feet are a very important part of the body with the nerve endings of essential organs and vital marma points. * Leave the oil on your skin for 10-20 minutes so that the oil can absorb and penetrate into the deeper layers of the body. (You can exercise or meditate during this time while the oil is absorbing). * Then take a warm bath or shower. * When you get out of the bath, towel dry gently. * Enjoy!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Himalayan salt lamps, and Himalayan salt candle holders. Not only are they an environmentally-friendly light source, but they also neutralize electromagnetic radiation (from our electronics like tv, computers, cellphones, appliances, etc). EM radiation releases positive ions which causes an imbalance in our systems, and increases stress levels, causes chronic fatigue, and also decreases the body’s immune response, etc. Himalayan salt ...lamps emit negative ions into the air. These negative ions can help protect us from bacteria and germs in the air, effectively cleaning the air and removing harmful irritants. The top 10 reasons why you should get a Himalayan salt lamp, or Himalayan salt candle holders are: 1. They purify and cleanse the air. 2. They can reduce asthma and allergy symptoms. 3. They are known to improve breathing. 4. They can increase your overall energy level, leaving you feeling better all around. 5. They can help you sleep better. 6. They can reduce stress and increase performance. 7. They can help with Combating depression. 8. They Increase relaxation. 9. They Help decrease headaches and migraines. 10. They Help improve mood & concentration. Remember if you are going to purchase a Himalayan salt lamp, or Himalayan candle holder make sure you get the real thing. So research before you make the purchase. If you buy a true Himalayan salt lamp and use it regularly, you may notice easier breathing, a calmer demeanor and better sleep in your near future. #himalayansaltlamp #himalayansalt #himalayan #india #pakistan #health #healthbenefits #holistichealth #holistichealing #holistic #natural #naturalhealing #benefits #relaxing #cleanair #energy #energyhealing #aarogyachiropractic #aarogyaca

Archeological studies show that herbal medicines date as far back as 60,000 years ago. Why are herbal recommendations considered an alternative choice to conventional drugs? Is it because of the lack of research that's done, or because of the fear of not understanding the molecular mechanisms of the herbs? This is a great study.
