The Golden State has been hit hard this year, from wildfires to soaring COVID-19 case counts. A whopping ten of the twenty cities with the highest motor vehicle theft rate are located up and down California’s Interstate 5, from Redding in the north all the way to Riverside in the south. To:Marysville Joint USD Everyone, Due to high winds bus transportation for targeted student populations has been cancelled for today and the power is currently out at Cordua Elementary School, Cedar Lane Elementary School, and Linda Elementary School. Here is the plan for impacted schools and students for Wednesday, January 27th: Cordua Elementary School, Cedar Lane Elementary School, and Linda Elementary School, will remain open and will move forward with their reg...ularly scheduled distance learning program. Staff will take into consideration the added burden families are under as it relates to grades and coursework. These three schools have made contact with their targeted student population, cancelling in-person instruction for today. Staff are teaching and working from home. If staff are in need of internet, other school sites that have power are available for support. Transportation for targeted student populations is expected to resume tomorrow, Thursday, January 28th. Lunches will be served at all normal locations at all normal times, today, Wednesday, January 27th. Students who live in the upper foothills and who attend Marysville High School will be able to download coursework from their teachers. Families who live in the foothills, who cannot connect online with their open school (like Browns Valley, Foothill, or Marysville High School), are encouraged to communicate with their school office, when possible.
