In October 2019, many of you came to see Ms. Jennifer as the featured soprano soloist in Ron Kean’s The Journey of Harriet Tubman with the Inland Master Chorale under the direction of Dr. Joe Modica. This month, November 2020, the 6th Street School of Music is celebrating it’s 14th year anniversary! The school’s owner, Jennifer Sparks, a former Cal State San Bernardino music professor, became owner of the school in 2006 with several goals in mind; to provide an environment suitable for the instruction and enjoyment of music. Music lessons are designed to meet specific needs of each student including a balance of technique, theory, computer technology, sight-reading, ear... training, and repertoire appropriate to the student’s level of proficiency. A note from Ms. Jennifer: Being a music instructor for about 33 years, it has truly been a Blessing to have a music school in Redlands. I contribute the success of the music school to so many Blessings. The 6th Street School of Music’s group of students has grown from a handful to well over hundreds of music students. This growth can be contributed to the experienced, reliable, caring, and dedicated music instructors and special guest artists. I have been blessed to have an amazing staff and guest artists over the years. Our staff members, past and present, include Christina Liem-Jennings, Diana Ross, Darcie Rickert, Dr. Kris Carlisle, Kelli Endsley, Caroline Kil-Najera, Christie Simpson, Elizabeth Fesmire, Ernest Craig, Emil Koester and David Gerhartz (photography and videography). Thank you so much for your professionalism and wonderful instruction! Thank you to all of our 6th Street School of Music Parents! Thank you for trusting me and my staff with your children's music education and for the many recommendations. And, Thank you to all of our music students of all ages - from our Music Together babies and toddlers to our many adult students. Our school model has always been - "We believe that positive motivation and sensitive guidance help every student achieve musical success." Some of our music students have won various music competitions including the Redlands Bowl Young Artist Auditions, Solofest, the Inland Empire Idol and the Inland Idol, to name a few. Also, many students have furthered their music education at OCSA, Juilliard, University of Redlands, Cal Sate Fullerton, UCLA, UC Irvine, Loyola Marymount, Cal Poly Pomona and USC. Please stay tuned as we will share the changes through pictures, information and a music lesson schedule that will keep us all safe during this time.
