It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we must share with you the passing of Retired Fire Captain Carl Granger. Carl passed away at the age of 75 afte...r experiencing complications from a fall last month. Carl served with the Sacramento Fire Department for 32 years and was very involved with his local community. Carl was a member of the Firefighters Burn Institute Advisory Board from 2007-2019 and was instrumental in our Firefighters Kids Camp for many years. Carl also served on the planning committee for our Firefighter’s Fill the Boot for Burns Boot Drive and was an active member of our Liaison Response Team. In addition to his commitment to serving burn survivors, Carl also served as President of the Ben Ali Shriners Wrecking Crew, which supports Shriners Hospitals for Children, Northern CA. Carl will always be remembered as a kind, caring and giving man with a heart of gold and wonderful sense of humor. Carl has touched many lives and we are all extremely fortunate for having known him. He will be sorely missed by his FFBI family. Please help us keep Carl's family in your thoughts and prayers during this extremely difficult time
