BEGINNING T’AI CHI with Greacian Goeke Weds. 2:00 - 3:00pm
RESTORATIVE YOGA with Anna Rich Tuesdays 5:15 - 6:30pm Focuses on gentle supportive poses to help you release into a deep state of relaxation. Practice simple warm-up stretches, breathing awareness exercises and deep rest. This class is beneficial for anyone with/or recovering from illness or injury. No previous yoga necessary. A practice that contributes to restoring one’s energy.
YIN YOGA WITH CARLA KOOPAL WEDS. 12:00 -1:15PM Take a mini-vacation in the middle of your busy day with this meditative yoga of surrender to deeply restore,... rejuvenate & relax your body, mind, and spirit with floor poses held 1 - 5 minutes in duration. TRI YOGA with Pam McKernan Sundays 11:15-12:30pm True to the concept of non-violence, TriYoga’s meditative and transformative flows emphasizes relaxation-in-action. The sequences unite asana with breath and focus to create a greater flow of life energy. Enabling one to gently progress in flexibility, strength and understanding. Breathing practices, concentration techniques and meditation are included.
LEVEL 1- 3 with Scotty McCaulley Saturdays 9:30 -11:00am Scotty's class is always an adventure guided by a trusted and well informed yoga teacher. His famous motto is "If I can do it, so can you."
YOGA IN BALANCE with Beth Greenfield Fridays 9:30 - 10:45am Balance Yoga emphasizes a different alignment of the bones which helps reduce stress. You will be guided to elongate the spine, gently stretch muscles and focus on the meditative quality of the breath. Each class becomes a meditation of centering and sensory awareness while practicing basic yoga postures. Expect gentle warming stretching on the floor, slow easy sun salutations, a focus on alignment, the breath, and creating spaciousness. This class is especially helpful supporting a pain-free back and joints. This style of yoga is based on the teaching of Noelle Perez in Paris and Jean Couch in Palo Alto.
GENTLE YOGA with Deborah Saliby Thursdays 5:45 - 7:00pm LEVEL 1-2 Saturdays 11:15 - 12:30pm Gentle Yoga and Level 1 - 2 yoga classes offer a therapeutic and transformative experience. Deborah has spent the last 35 years studying Iyengar yoga, Energy Healing and HypnoBirthing. She teaches in such a way that you leave a practice feeling strong and well. There is nothing like having a practice that focuses and uplifts you.
Nina Wise is known for her provocative and original performance works. Her pieces have garnered seven Bay Area Critics’ Circle Awards, and she has received, among other prestigious honors, three National Endowment for the Arts fellowships. BEGINNER YOGA with Barbara Steiber's Weds. 6:00 - 7:15pm Learn movement principles that will give the building blocks to easily guide you into beginner hatha yoga poses (asanas) with comfort, proper alignment and attention to the breath. She is also a graduate of the School of Body Mind Centering (BMC), a 500-hour yoga training program of Embodied Anatomy and Yoga, and Developmental Movement and Yoga, and is a BMC certified Somatic Movement Educator and a licensed therapeutic massage practitioner.
