Happy Thanksgiving Big Valley!

Attention Big Valley Families, Lassen County Public Health Department issued a closure for all schools in Lassen County for in-person instruction from November 23, 2020 to December 31, 2020. The Big Valley Joint Unified School District will be complying with this order. Big Valley Schools will be continuing in full distance learning mode on November 30th after Thanksgiving Break through Winter Break. It has been determined that it is in the best interest of our students..., staff, and Lassen County community. This closure includes athletics, clubs, and other activities where students have been in-person on our campuses. The current class schedules for distance learning will continue on Nov. 30th. During the time from in-person instruction, meal service for students will continue twice a week. Further updates will be provided on November 30, 2020. Happy Thanksgiving!

Attention 4th Grade Families and Big Valley Families: Christmas tree permits available November 5 ALTURAS, Calif. Modoc National Forest Christmas tree permits will be on sale at various local businesses from November 5 through December 24. No tree permits will be sold directly by the forest service. Permits are $10 each, with a limit of two permits per household. Permits should be in possession when cutting trees.... Fourth grade students who get an Every Kid Outdoors Pass can use that pass for one free Christmas tree from the Modoc National Forest, just take that pass along when harvesting a family tree. This pass also allows free access to federal lands and waters for a full year. To get started, the fourth grader can visit https://everykidoutdoors.gov/pass.htm and follow the instructions to print an outdoor pass. Again, this pass will serve as the Christmas tree permit for participating fourth graders and their families this year. Our Big Valley 6th and 7th Graders Participated in Intermountain News Pumpkin Carving Contest. The Intermountain News donated pumpkins from Big Valley Market and students carved a pumpkin and entered the contest. The high school staff and Big Valley High School FFA Leadership team voted on the winners. 1st Place - Isela Ellenberger 2nd Place - Ahtziri Barba-Rodriguez 3rd Place - Syrus Roberts Great Job 6th and 7th Graders!
