The very first winner of the K/men Treasure Hunt was 15 year-old Jim Eastwood of Redlands shown here in this photo from the summer of 1962 with Bob Wickett (left) of Bob Wickett Dodge Chrysler Plymouth of San Bernardino and his mother Hattie Mitchell and Step-Father George Mitchell. Read all about how Jim found the buried treasure by going to our website under the page Remembering K/men - The Contests.
This June 6th event is open to any classmates of any Greater San Bernardino area high schools, aged 21 and older that remember K/men radio and its Golden Era, 1962-1972. The event, featuring a musical revue of Top 40 Hits from the era, is hosted by the San Gorgonio High School Class of 1970 in celebration of their 45th reunion with musicians from San G, Pacific, San Bernardino and Redlands High School (classes 1970-72) and a 14-member planning committee comprised of classmates from San G and Pacific (classes of 1969-1971). Our target audience is San G, Pacific, San Bernardino, Cajon, Redlands, Aquinas and Rim of the World High School.
The $45 cost per ticket includes a delicious BBQ catered by Mill Creek Cattle Company of Redlands/Mentone. The owner Jimmy Lotito is bringing his brand new smoker to BBQ on-site.
It's coming June 6th.
