New event series announcement alert! Starting next Wednesday, February 3 Manny's will be hosting a weekly Black History Month book club in partnership with the Honorable Malia Cohen around Alicia Garza’s incredible book The Purpose of Power. Each week we will have an incredible special guest including Mayor London Breed of San Francisco, Lateefah Simon, Congresswoman Barbara Lee and finally with Alicia Garza herself. Personal Pitch: Hey ya'll I don't have kids But if I did, and I had one that identified as a Girl, she would be in the San Francisco Girls Chorus with (BVOH)... It is SO AWESOME to watch these young ladies learn about their voice adn how to use it effectively, BUT ALSO, these girls learn music theory AND songwriting AND music in different languages (right now I'm listening to these girls learn how to sing a song in Tagalog!!!) BUT THEY ALSO learn history and culture AND they learn posture and diction It's really an amazing program AND RIGHT NOW they are still accepting girls If you would like your girl (age 4 - 11) to get involved (also if you work with young girls) HOLLER AT ME! The instructors are amazing. I really really really HIGHLY SUGGEST you tap in if you can! ALSO! Two of the teachers for the BVOH campus are Black Men that can saaaaaaang and play instruments. The impact that having positive Black male teachers will have on these girls is IMMEASURABLE Hit. Me. Up. Get ya girl sanging, learning and socializing with the best
