Windows 10 Windows 10: How to fix sluggish performance and boost overall system speed of Windows 10 Several desktop users have reportedly been flooding Microsoft Support forums and Reddit with complaints over sluggish performance issues, after upgrading their systems to Windows 10.... Now, reports suggest that it has been ascertained the slowdowns often show up in the form of unexpected input lags, wherein the Start Menu takes about 2 to 3 seconds to open after clicking on it. The trick here is to change the default settings for Page File control from "System Managed" to manual format, wherein you can change the page file memory's initial and maximum size, based on the system memory (RAM) installed on your PC. Here is a step-by-step guide to speed up Windows 10 on your computer: Launch Start Menu and navigate to the Control Panel. In the Control Panel, just go to the Search field at the top-right of the window and type Performance. Then hit Enter. Once the results popup, just choose "Adjust the appearance and performance of windows." This menu can also be accessed by right-clicking on My Computer and then choosing Properties from the context menu. Go to the Advanced tab and click Change key in the Virtual Memory section. Now uncheck the option: "Automatically manage paging file size for all drives." Select the drive (default C: drive) where Windows 10 is installed and then choose Custom Size > change Initial Size and Maximum Size to the recommended values by Windows. Then click Set and then hit OK to save the settings. Finally, reboot the computer for the changes to take effect Enjoy :) :)

If you are... having problems viewing specific websites, experiencing any sort of strange issue with your web browser, or you can't go to any websites at all, reading this article should set you on the path to recovery. As the incumbent most used web browser, this article is mainly geared toward Internet Explorer - however most of it is relevant to other web browsers as well. The usual suspect. 1. Is the problem actually with the Browser? 2. Clearing the Cookies & Cache 3. Resetting Internet Explorer Settings 4. Trying a different Web Browser 5. Checking for malicious software 6. Further Help Is the problem actually with the Browser? The easiest way to determine if the problems you are experiencing are directly related to your web browser or not is to simply test to see if any other internet programs are working. For example, can you still receive emails, or talk to people on MSN Messenger? If so the problem is going to be related to your web browser. You can also check the lights on the front panel of your modem. Typically, there should be an "Internet" or "PPP" light, which should be green. If none of your internet programs are working, or your "Internet/PPP" light isn't green, please proceed to the Broadband ADSL Issues article in order to resolve the issue. Clearing the Cookies & Cache Please see this page for more information on cookies. A cookie is a small file that is stored on your computer when you visit a website. The cache saves parts of websites you have loaded, but just like cookies, can cause problems if a website has gone through a design change. Please keep in mind that this may clear information that is saved to websites you visit, such as any usernames or passwords that may saved and automatically entered each time you visit that site. Resetting Internet Explorer Settings Internet Explorer is susceptible to being tinkered with by many different programs, and sometimes even malicious software such as viruses. Fortunately, there is a way we can reset it back to "Factory Defaults" that can often fix problems of this nature. To do the following: Internet Explorer (Version 5.x and 6.x) 1. In the menu bar of Internet Explorer, click on Tools. 2. Click on Internet Options. 3. Click on the "Programs" tab. 4. Click the Reset Web Settings.. button. 5. Follow the prompts. 6. If you have trouble locating the menu bar, click the Alt button on your keyboard and the menu bar should appear. 2. Click on Internet Options. 3. Click on the "Advanced" tab. 4. Click the "Reset" button. 5. On the pop up button, click "Reset". 6. Close down Internet explorer, restart it and try again. Trying a different Web Browser Often, to determine if the problem is specifically with your web browser, it is good practice to try a different web browser. For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, then you could try Google Chrome. If you are on a Mac using Safari, you could try Mozilla Firefox. Checking for malicious software Malicious software, such as viruses, worms, trojan horses and spyware often target Internet connections for a variety of reasons. Most are geared toward web browsing in particular, often blocking connections over the internet port used for web browsing. Update your virus-scanning software and then perform a full system scan to check for any such infections - they may be the cause of the problem. If you don't have any virus scanning software, there are free alternatives available to download over the internet.
