Happy New Year! 2020 sure proved to be a challenging year in many ways. The year stated off w a hard recovery from a surgery, I rode my bike, an unsuccessful Presidential impeachment, Covid-19 got started, had a surgery to reverse the surgery that I started off the year recovering from, I turned 50, had another major surgery to reconstruct my neck, on July 4th, endured a scary and very smoky fire season, rode my bike, made some frames in my new shop, had another surgery on m...y kidney with some unexpected painful recovery complications, rode my bike, took a picture of this amazing tree, and had a big nap to cap it all off on this last day of 2020. This year I felt the limits of my pain threshold and found my resilience repeatedly. I am happy to report that while this year was tough, it did not break me and that while I do have my bouts of suffering, I am grateful to be here to do the things I love, have some great friends and family who I love dearly, and most of all I have a great relationship w my beautiful wife, Tarrell, who keeps me going with her love , compassion, and strength. While I dont know what 2021 will bring as far as challenges, I feel very lucky to have the love and support of friends and family that make it all worth fighting for. See more

Finally got some much needed rain today and I just had to go and get soaked. Thankfully I have some proper rain riding gear and a beard to keep me relatively comfy.

First ride in 4 months is in the books. Man, that felt great and boy was I pooped afterwards. I havent slept that well in quite a while. It’s amazing how much fitness is a relative thing. When you have it, everything seems so easy but getting it requires a lot of time, practice, and patience. One pedal stroke at a time...

Its been a busy week here in the shop making the first frame to be made in the new space. After about a year or so of no welding, it’s good to know that I’ve still got it. The frame is a nice and simple butted Ti road frame (about 2.5lbs.) for rim brakes and it is extra special because of who its for. Thanks for all the love and support @tarrell_kullaway , I love you ...and cheers !!!

The first complete bike to leave from my new shop in Marin County, CA is in the books! Its been a long haul to get to this point and I’m super happy to be here making the bikes after a big break to get the new home and shop set up and powered, moved in and organized (never ending), multiple surgeries and recoveries, fires, and Covid-19. Its good to be back at it again and I look forward to making many more! @ San Anselmo, California

Took a few days to get out of town and connect w @godcola and @shedoescara at the old Twin Brooks cabin in the Sierra Mountains. The variety of natural beauty amazes me in this high mountain landscape that is only enhanced by the love that all share. @ Shaver Lake, California

The Alpine Dam loop is a great ride from home that takes in the mountains, lots of big redwood trees, out to the Marin Headlands, and back home in about 2-2.5 hours depending on how hard you want to push it. I just this ride in this magical place.

Yesterday was the longest ride Ive done in a while and this was the only I took despite the actual fact that it was a beautiful mixed road/dirt route from home to Sausalito, into the Marin Headlands, Miwok Trail, along Panoramic Highway, over to Ridgecrest, down to Alpine Dam, and back home up and down Bo-Fax Rd. Got home suitably hungry, cold, and tired. It was a good day! :) #333fab #custombicycles #madeinmarin

Style check back to the 1997 Ronde van Vlaanderen w Johan(Mr. Flanders) Museeuw. He didnt win the race this day (Rolf Sorensen got the better of Franco Ballerini at the end) but he most definitely won the style points competition in his WC rainbow jersey, Briko Stingers, topped off with a white leather hairnet . If your looking to relive a great edition of this classic from the heart of Flemmish country I recommend the 1997 Ronde. You’re welcome!

Today’s ride was a much needed sanity break out to Nicasio, back on the Cross Marin Trail through Samual P. Taylor Park, and a little extra off-road action on the Old White Hill Trail to bring it on home. #333fab #custombicycles #madeinmarin @ Samuel P. Taylor State Park
