The sunset this evening was absolutely stunning. Boarders and horses alike seemed to just stand and enjoy the sight.
Way to go Poway Polo Club!!! It truly does take a village, and a great coach, the unending backing of parents, hard-working riders, and wonderful horses!!!! North County Equestrian Center is proud to say that many of the Poway Polo Club riders board their horses with us.
We have some of the most thoughtful and kind hearted boarders possible! A couple of weeks ago Amelia and Meagan left two large buckets filled with apples for others to give their horses (or eat themselves). Yesterday , Pippa, Libby, and Emma left flowers for both Kyla and I. And about a month ago Ian Mills and daughters Emma and Libby did a total renovation of all the jump standards and cavallettis. Pics of their work will be posted ASAP.
NCEC has an additional FB page that is open only to our boarders. It is North County Equestrian Center Boarders and your request to join will approved only if you are a present boarder. The private page has been developed as a means for the boarders to communicate and share on a private format. For example - I am wanting to go for a trail ride this weekend.... anybody interested? - or - My horse needs his vaccinations. I’d be happy to split a ranch call if someone’s having their vet out in the next couple of weeks. The FB page is a means for NCEC boarders to easily communicate amongst each other. Please take advantage and ask to join North County Equestrian Center Boarders on FB.
I'm just gonna leave this out there for those that feel sandals are ok to wear to the barn.
Equine Coronavirus and Covid-19: No evidence of horse-human spread Equine Enteric Coronavirus and Covid-19 are both coronaviruses but are distinctly different viruses, and there is no evidence to indicate that horses could contract Covid-19, or that they would be able to spread the disease to other animals or humans, according to several international health organisations. Coronaviruses include a large group of RNA viruses that cause respiratory and intestinal symptoms, and h...ave been reported in domestic and wild animals. An RNA virus is a virus that has ribonucleic acid as its genetic material. Illustration of a Coronavirus. In addressing questions raised by horse owners, equine veterinarians at Florida’s Palm Beach Equine Clinic Equine said Equine Enteric Coronavirus and Covid-19 are not the same strain, and there is no indication that either is transmissible between species. Equine coronavirus is an enteric, or gastrointestinal, disease in the horse. There is no evidence that equine enteric coronavirus poses a threat to humans or other species of animals, the clinic said. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), infectious disease experts, and multiple international and national human and animal health organizations have stated that at this time there is no evidence to indicate that horses could contract Covid-19 or that horses would be able to spread the disease to other animals or humans. https://www.horsetalk.co.nz//equine-coronavirus-covid-19-/

Nearing May, I think it’s safe to say our rainy season is over. If you still have winter blankets hanging on your stall please be sure to remove what isn’t in use. If you need the number of someone to launder and/or repair them please dm us and we can get you the number of a fantastic lady. For those of you picking out your stalls, please be sure to bring (label) and use a muck bucket to help expedite the removal. Thanks for helping keep things looking good! And finally, please be sure to clean up after your horses, manure, hair, whatever. Just please be courteous and mindful of other boarders and the facility. Thank you all for helping make this place great again!
