This is cool! The small piece was cut from the larger one. I then "fumed" the small one in ammonia, for a few hours. Ammonia reacts with the tannins in the wood to give it a weathered look. BTW this is oak. No stain or any other product was used. Just fumes from ammonia. Interesting, don't ya think.
