The Board of Directors of the Oakdale Chamber of Commerce have announced that the 27th Annual Oakdale Chocolate Festival, rescheduled for September 12th & 13th, 2020 will not take place as planned due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic and the risk to public health of a large-scale gathering such as this event. Oakdale Chamber was very hopeful about being able to host the Chocolate Festival this fall but things took a turn for the worst with the Governors di...al back protocol at the beginning of July. This has made it impossible for the Chamber to secure the necessary permits needed to pull off an event of this nature. Therefore we are forced to make this decision with heartfelt regret. We can appreciate how much this festival means to our vendors and the community. Cancelling the Chocolate Festival was a very difficult decision for us. Therefore, in accordance with the guidance of public health officials we have to cancel our 27th Annual Oakdale Chocolate Festival for this year. They are back again this September but if you just can't wait you can take a road trip to Lockeford and order up your favorite sausage and meat to go and BBQ it yourself.
