When Jay sailed around the world in the 1970’s, he painted his wetsuit legs with 3 yellow stripes, from the knees down to the cuff. This replicated the sea snake coloring which sharks and barracudas found alarming, and would not approach. Sharks do not see colors, they see patterns of white, grey, and black. This unique pattern will remind sharks that your legs are not regular faire. In really sharky waters paint your arms from elbow to cuff 3 pattern. This information is also in his book written in 1983 - The Armchair Adventurist.
