Christmas trees are recycled into mulch and compost. Only real trees, free of decoration, lights, stands, tinsel and flocking can be recycled. There are three options for Christmas tree recycling in Sonoma County: 1) Curbside residential collection, 2) Drop-off recycling of whole unflocked trees, 3) Non-profit whole tree pickup. If you were forced to evacuate due to fires and your food has gone bad, please remember to compost! Food scraps and yard debris can go in the green bin, but please remove plastic, glass, and metal packaging first. Condiments and dressings should NOT go down the sink as they will cause clogs. If you can, empty them into the green bin, then rinse and recycle the bottle. #SonomaStrong https://zerowastesonoma.gov/materia/yard-debris-food-scraps
