In no place does time actually stand still, but if it was possible, Franklin would have to be one of those places. One can see businesses and residences on Main... Street, and the surrounding streets, that were built as far back as the early 1900's, and in some cases even in the early 1800's. One of the awesome things about the businesses is that even though some of them are vacant, you can still see the history in their construction. You simply cannot go just anywhere to see the architecture and styles seen in these buildings on such a large scale. There is nothing prefab about them. As for the homes - to be able to see such a wide range of older home styles in such relatively small areas you could probably go to a larger town, but why drive all over looking for them? You can simply drive or even walk down an oak-covered Blvd where even the street lights are historical while seeing homes that tourists from around the world enjoy taking pictures of.
