Young People's Symphony Orchestra (YPSO) 10.11.2020

Trumpets and Trombones are working on their recording tracks of the virtual orchestra at today's rehearsal. By following the safety protocol of Alameda county, strings and percussions rehearse in-person in chamber cohorts, while brass and woodwinds rehearse online. The recordings will be optimized and put together with all other instruments for the final product as an orchestra!

We've got the video clips from this Monday’s first chamber cohort rehearsal with Maestro Ramadanoff! Due to the safety protocol of Alameda County, they are only half of the strings and percussions. Now can you imagine how this year's YPSO sounds like with entire strings, brass, and woodwinds? We can't wait to share with you the final product!!!

YPSO alumni highlight Please listen to the resonance of five voices by The Four Hermaneutics, The Herman Family Choir! Four siblings are YPSO alumni. Joshua (cello) and Rebecca (violin) were with YPSO from 2008 through 2013. Joshua was on the piano for the two concertos, and Rebecca played at least one orchestral piece on the piano. Arielle (2011-2015) played viola and harp. Happy Birthday, Antonín Leopold Dvoák(1841-1904)! Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, YPSO's concert tour to Central Europe this summer was postponed. Although we could not make it to #DvoákHall #Rudolfinum in Prague where we were supposed to perform, we would like to share the Dvoák’s 8th symphony from our Winter Concert on February 29th, right before the Shelter-In-Place order was issued.
