everything isn’t what it seems by Ava Blu (Apprentice) made using watercolor and rubbing alcohol during the REC Workshop for the Feels Comic project. The purpose of this workshop is for youth to learn about using art as an art therapy tool and build artistic style referencing various professional artists. For the Feels Comic project youth were prompted to create a comic that expresses a current thought or feeling they’re in. Her comic was about how everything isn’t what it... seems. All things have two sides to them, the good and bad. Join our YSA Studio Workshops that happen throughout the week! For more info go to our website (link in About section).
Day 1 of revamping our Art Lot with our youth led by Senior Artist & Art Director, Miss Z. We brainstormed what makes an outdoor space welcoming, engaging, and interesting. Afterwards we created our own ideal floor plan, removed weeds from the planter boxes, flipped and watered the already present soil in them, trimmed the rosemary plant, swept, organized the wooden benches, and picked weeds coming through the left side fence.
