yli's mission is to build communities where young people and their adult allies come together to promote social justice and racial equity. That is why we are standing in solidarity with hundreds of thousands of protestors across the nation and movement leaders like The Movement for Black Lives to call on decision makers in city, state, and federal government to create true safety for our communities. This means divesting from excessive, brutal, and discriminatory policing and investing in a vision of community safety that works for everyone, not just an elite few.

The year 2020 has been an especially prominent and amazing opportunity for young people to voice their opinions to speak out against racial violence, to call upon their friends, like leaders, and really have their voice listened to, says Demi Wack. And that's just what she and Michael Waife are doing on their new podcast, PolicyWise, which offers intergenerational policy discussions centered around today’s youth. PolicyWise is available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, Breaker Audio, RadioPublic, Pocket Casts and Overcast. Check it out! As voters, we turned out in record numbers, despite a pandemic, an economic collapse, and attempts to stop us. Now we’re going to make sure that every vote counts. #EveryVoteCounts #DemocracyRising

TODAY at 7pm PST is the last workshop in the Coastside climate series! The County of San Mateo and City of Half Moon Bay have teamed up with Sustainable Pescadero so your ideas and priorities can inform climate planning for Half Moon Bay AND unincorporated Coastal communities. By working together we can be more impactful and inclusive and put more of your suggestions to work. We invite EVERYONE to weigh in and participate whether you are joining the conversation or have att...ended past events. The County climate plan and the City of Half Moon Bay CAAP will set goals and strategies to reduce the pollution that causes climate change so we can do our part to reduce the risk and frequency of severe weather and other climate change impacts in the future while building a more older adult-friendly community across the Coastside. This is your chance to weigh in on an important planning process for your neighborhood and community! By attending the workshop, you’ll automatically be entered into a raffle. We’ll be giving away gift cards at the end of the workshop. We look forward to seeing you there! There is no doubt that stress is at an all time high for all of us right now, especially our young people. With COVID-19 impacting our lives and limiting our access to resources, it's hard to take action and get help. Half Moon Bay youth of Pilarcitos High School wanted to share this resource from Elevate Addiction Services for those struggling with drug addiction. Help us in celebrating Red Ribbon Week and bringing awareness to drug use in the HMB community! #saynotodrugs #redribbonweek #healthyliving #youthlives
