Another update CA: Do NOT fail to appear in CA traffic courts anymore. Two weeks ago they stopped providing abstracts in all counties if you fail to appear for a court date and they put a warrant out for you. You no longer have the abstract option that will protect you until your new court date. Just FYI

Greetings Everyone! Please be advised that changes are occurring within the traffic court system in Los Angeles County wherein a Failure to Appear at a Trial will no longer lead to a warrant. Instead, the court will issue an automatic judgment against you in your absence and if you want to contest the judgment, you will have to post bond and request a trial de novo or otherwise pay up. No more second chances to secure an abstract and reset trial dates without posting bond. FYI
