This can help us ensure all our patients in for treatment are not currently infected. This will then help reduce the spread of Covid-19. Molar Monday Staff Biographies: Cecilia ... Cecilia has been working with Dr Napolitano for 6 years now. She is a master at insurance and scheduling. It is rare that Cecilia takes a day off. When she does it is most likely spent with her adorable son. She is usually at karate or swim lessons, doing homework with her son, or working on her own homework. Cecilia constantly takes classes to further her knowledge in the dental field. Busy is her middle name! If you ever have a dental question do not hesitate ask Cecilia. Next time you stop by be sure and say hello! The greatest compliment we can receive is the referral of your family, friends and co-workers!

Molar Monday: Covid-19 office update. Santa Clara County has now released its most recent guidelines. Effective 12:01 am on November 17, 2020, our county is moving back to the purple tier (the most restrictive tier).... With the recent increase in positive cases and hospitalizations, we want to encourage all of our patients and community members to be safe. We are offering PCR Covid testing for patients without symptoms. If you are symptomatic call your doctor. The incubation period for the virus is up to 14 days. If you think you may have been exposed it is best to wait 3 days before being tested and remember that even if you test negative that you are at risk for becoming positive for the full 14 day incubation period. Our advice is wear your mask, practice social distance, avoid crowds and get tested if you are concerned about possible exposure. Please reschedule any appointment with us if you have a fever, cough, sore throat or any other Covid-19 symptoms.

Molar Monday Staff Biographies: Monika ... Monika has been with Dr. Napolitano for over 30 years now! She is one of our three hygienists. Monika has a passion for baking, being involved in her community and forming close connections with her friends and patients. Now that her children are in college she has been looking for fun activities to join. She participates in the annual Gilroy Garlic festival and even won first place as a sous chef in 2018. Lately she has been baking up a storm- bread, cookies, you name it! It is not often that Monika is not working, but when she isn’t she loves to travel. Whether it’s a day trip to the beach, plane trip to Mexico, Hawaii or Europe, she is always on the go! Please be sure to say hello to Monika next time you stop in!

Molar Monday How is you hygiene routine going? Did you know flossing does more than prevent cavities in between your teeth? It also keeps the bacteria count down that causes irritation to your gums. When there is constant bacteria, the gums get inflamed (givgivitis and then gum disease) this can eventually cause bone loss. ... Once the bone is lost around our teeth it does not grow back. This can lead to mobile teeth or even tooth loss. Floss your teeth once a day to keep those bacteria from damaging your beautiful smile!

With the Flu season approaching we would like to remind our patients the importance of a healthy routine. 1. Wash your hands often 2. Get a healthy 7-8 hours of sleep each night 3. Eat lots of fruits and veggies ... 4. Wear your mask when you may be near people outside of your household 5. Get a flu shot 6. Please let our office know if you are sick so we may reschedule your appointment Health is important to us. We are encouraging all of our patients to consider coming in a few days prior to your scheduled appointment for a Covid-19 nasal swab. Our lab returns results in 24-48 hours. It helps us make sure we are not working on anyone who may be infected- which protects our staff and other patients. Let our front desk know when you would like to stop by for no more than 10 minutes to get your swab!

Molar Monday Steps for becoming a new patient (or returning after a long absence) 1. Comprehensive Exam with X-rays... 2. Prophy or deep cleaning (determined by Dr Napolitano and your hygienist) 3. Restorative work (fillings, crowns, extractions, braces, etc.) 4. Maintenance (cleanings 2, 3, or 4 times a year) 5. X-rays 1 time a year to check for cavities (sometimes less frequently for people who are very stable) 6. Restorative work as needed 7. New comprehensive exam in 10 years or as needed (if someone is going to loose their insurance or retire soon they may want to check for any teeth that may soon need work) We are happy to help you schedule your Comprehensive Exam and x-rays.
