Being disabled is a full-time job People rarely think about how much time it takes on a daily basis when you live with a disability. My daily routines take much longer than most peoples because I need help with everything. For me, being disabled means that I’ve become pretty good at planning and organizing But no matter how much I plan ahead I have to be prepared to change everything and improvise. I’m not off on the weekends because my life goes on - there are no time... outs So next time you come across someone with a disability, then think about how much time and effort they put into simply living their daily life - something non-disabled people often take for granted Thank you Louise for another wonderful article! #yoocandoanything #yoocan #nevergiveup #instagood #photooftheday #selflove #selfloveisthebestlove #SelfLoveWarrior #SelfLoveMatters #disability #disabilityawareness #disabilityrights #disabilitypride #disabilityadvocacy #support #community #loveandsupport #Paraplegic #Awareness #Denmark #MuscularDystroph #motivation #rolemodel #risingup

Self-employment is a popular path for people living with disabilities. However, the path isn’t without its challenges, and deciding on the right industry is a big part of the equation. 1. WEB DESIGN If you have an eye for design and an ample heap of tech-savviness, a career as a web designer could be a great fit for you. As a web designer, you can work from home, coffee shops, and coworking spaces, and you get to set your own hours as long as you meet client deadlines.... 2. FITNESS TRAINING A career as a personal trainer can be a great fit for a service-disabled veteran who wants to share the dedication to personal fitness they learned in the military. If you’ve stayed fit after a physical disability, you can share your strategies for adapting workouts to meet individual needs. 3. MASSAGE THERAPY Massage therapists can set up a studio in their own home, making it a great career option for a person who prefers to work solo and doesn’t care to look at a screen all day. 4. FARMING If you find peace in working with your hands, consider starting a small farm business. Farming has been used as a therapy for people with mental and physical disabilities 5. CONTENT MARKETING People seeking a home-based business with flexible hours and low overhead costs should consider a career in content marketing. 6. FRANCHISE OWNERSHIP Becoming a franchise owner lets you start a small business without having to navigate all the aspects of running a small business on your own. 7. LAWN CARE OR LANDSCAPING It’s well known that time outdoors benefits mental health, which is why a career in landscaping can be a great fit for people living with a mental illness. Another great aspect of working in landscaping is that you can start small, focusing on just one or two services, and then scale up over time. Thank you to Ed Carter for another amazing tips article.

Hi, my name is Ann. In September 2013 I had a car accident which left me paraplegic. I learned resilience and perseverance. I quit Boxing and discovered Wheelchair Basketball. The disability made me stronger and more determined. Today I am a member of the France team and I'm aiming for the Paris 2024 Paralympics. I lead my life between sport and work with my disability.... #yoocandoanything #yoocan #nevergiveup #instagood #photooftheday #selflove #selfloveisthebestlove #SelfLoveWarrior #SelfLoveMatters #disability #disabilityawareness #disabilityrights #disabilitypride #SCI #France #sport #paralympics #wheelcharibasketball #wheelchairwomen #strong

SPINAL CORD TUMOR I remember that one day when I woke up, all of sudden I wasn't able to move anything below my waist with worse lower back pain. My whole world shattered when my family members needed to carry me around I had no idea about what's happening to me and I never imagined getting a wheelchair for myself to be able to move around. From an active able person to a paraplegic. A 16 years old girl who never imagined being in a wheelchair for the rest of her life. Y...ES, I was devastated and hurt, crying all day and night in pain, and lost all my high school happy moments. It hurts to see when my other friends go to school and I'm in a hospital bed all day. But I never GIVE UP! I ACCEPTED MYSELF AND THE GAME CHANGED! I always make sure that my family and friends are happy when they visit me at the hospital. I will laugh and play games with them. I also started going around the wad and I found a few friends there. I started to treat them as my own family. We share our stories, foods with each other, and helped each other by gifting things that they don't have at the hospital. Most importantly I learned so much from all their stories THAT'S HOW I FIND A WAY TO HEAL MYSELF. IN MAKING PEOPLE AROUND ME SMILE! CHANGE YOUR MINDSET! SEE THE POSITIVE IN NEGATIVE SITUATIONS! FINALLY LOVE YOURSELF AND THE JOURNEY OF YOUR LIFE. SCAR OF TWO MAJOR SURGERIES Thanks to each and every one " #spinalcordtumor #spinalcordinjury #spinalcordinjuryrecovery #spinalcordinjurysurvivor #wheelchairlife #beyourself #behappyforwhoyouare #believeinyourself #everythingwithinyou #loveyourself #selfloveisimportant #bestrong #painchangespeople #growingfrompain #painteachesyou
